This adorable baby quilt is a custom printed panel! To make it look pieced, I stitched “in the ditch”. After the quilt was stabilized, my HandiQuilter ProStitcher and I got busy. This was a fantastic way to get to know the features included in ProStitcher like crop, mark and record. Since I hadn’t spent hours days piecing this little project, I felt free to try anything. SHHHHHH! Don’t tell anyone I took a shortcut!
Converting vintage items into quilts is all the rage lately. My customer, Diana Evans used handkerchiefs collected by her mother and three aunts to create this sweet quilt. Now they have a new purpose and can be enjoyed again.
Here’s a modern scrappy churn dash quilt pieced by Susan Soape. The wavy lines give it a modern feel. I’m loving how the woven solids really pop.

What an amazing feeling to be putting the finishing touches on this vintage quilt. Soon it will return to its owners. I hope the makers are smiling down on this quilt from heaven knowing that their loving creation will be bringing joy and comfort to their family.
